Letter to a Brother in the Midst of Trials

This was to be a letter to a brother in the Lord who is going through earthly hell right now. I decided to make it a semi-open letter instead.

Dear Friend,
I have been trying to help carry your burdens to God in prayer:
Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

I thought of a scripture that you mention from time to time:
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matthew 6:34

God is working on your behalf, friend. Though every human forsake you, Jesus will never forsake you. While you have what some might consider earthly riches, your heavenly riches are much more valuable. This also can be the riches of your earthly reputation, your abilities, even those in your life whom you cherish. Your earthen treasures mean little. I know I am stating the obvious, but sometimes it helps to hear it anyway.

These particular scriptures I know are for you. You might also see if the Lord doesn’t open up more to you in this chapter:
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 2 Corinthians 4: 7-9

I have been stripped. I wonder if it will ever be complete. It has been happening for many years. The Lord told me beforehand He was going to do it. Should I have protested?

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Luke 22:31&32

So, here we are, very close to the end of time. We are on our journey toward His kingdom. We have many distractions along the way. We find ourselves putting off cumbersome earthly weights so that our load will be lighter, so that we can go faster and get more accomplished for Jesus’ Kingdom.

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1&2

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62

I pray that my words are not like those of Job’s Comforters, and that you realize as much as is possible, as a fellow human, I realize your plight. Woe unto those who fury against the people whom the Lord has His hand on. God is taking care of you and the things that concern you (Psalm 20:6). Onward, my friend. Stay on the path the Lord has laid out for you, no matter how difficult it seems. Shake off what you can, bring before His throne what you can’t. Rejoice and leap for joy, for your reward is great in heaven! (Matthew 5:12)
