We have our desires, the things we cherish, the things we work for,
our hopes, our dreams, things we put effort into.
We have our expectations and our motives and our strivings,
our talents and our life’s work, the hours and days and sometimes years
that we put into building things that may not stand
or into relationships that are not beneficial.
Let our hope remain in God and let God have His way.
Through our disappointments and the times of discouragement on this Earth,
with the people we love, with the different monuments in our life,
that may or may not last, what remains is when God has been in them.
Those memories, those accomplishments, those connections
that are through Him are what will stand.
The choices we make, the times we refuse to bow to His word,
or in contrast the times we do humble ourselves before His word
are there to remind us of our failings and triumphs.
His kingdom come, His will be done in Earth as it is in Heaven.
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work,
that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 4:2-4
We will never be perfect on our own, apart from Jesus.
We will never make all the right choices.
We will never be in compete control of our flesh
and we are not capable of always bringing our best to His throne.
The fleshly world we live in brings us back to the humility we must accept,
because no matter how hard we try, how much we succeed,
and how many gems we put in our crowns, we return to dust.
We only will be elevated to the Kingdom when God chooses to do that for us.
We may receive honor here in some respects,
but that is not what we should strive for nor live for.
This Earth is not our end.
Typo: We will never be in compete control of our flesh
Another great read
—Daniel
typo? I contend that there will always be a battle until we meet Him. Is that not true, Daniel?
