Oh, remember that my life is a breath!
My eye will never again see good. Job 7:7
The Neanderthals are gone
and the dinosaurs
The Tyrannosaurus rexes
and Pterodactyls
and Sodom and Gomorrah
and Atlantis
and the Mayan culture
and Tyre
and the mighty kings and princes of old
and the queens and princesses
and all the great creators and inventors
and wicked murderers
and destroyers of civilizations
and those who dismantled entire foundations of political systems
They are all gone
Only their works remain, unless they have since been torn down
Whether they be good works or bad, that is all that is left
Whether they helped or hurt societies
and whether their influence was great or small
That is of no importance now
They might have a name expounded upon in history books
or an elaborate tombstone but they are dead and gone
Mere mortals with a legacy
What is your legacy?
What have you done here with your time?
How will you be remembered?
What will your deeds reveal about you?
What will they say?
More importantly, what will God say?
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ;
that every one may receive the things done in his body,
according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
2 Corinthians 5:10
