Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:5
When I think in my finite wisdom,
I figure things out, I survey information, make determinations.
They are solid. I have been fair. I have considered all.
My thoughts are given credence by some. They agree with me.
Sometimes they are great in number.
But have I forgotten to weigh things against Your word?
Have I cast down my lofty thoughts?
The ideas I have exalted and walk in are they unbecoming to You?
Some thoughts remain in their position in my mind for quite some time
until I decide to cast them down.
Humbling my mind before Your word.
Let me be quicker to do that.
Let me bring my thinking and decisions before Your throne
I have rushed to judgment many times.
I have intentionally put my thoughts above Yours,
even when I have known Your word
I have chosen to justify my determination against the crowd
instead of against Your word
We are here now in this adulterous and wicked generation
we suffer with peer pressure and the desire to be liked of people
Forgive me Lord
Let me be swift to acknowledge Your thoughts above my own.
To not try to save my own life.
You see all, You know all, You sort out all things.
You see things perfectly.
Thank You for reminding me by Your spirit to be humble at Your word and to be proud of Your word. “For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.” Luke 9:26
