Go into the Highways and Byways and compel them to come in
And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges,
and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Luke 14:23
God forbid if we ever choose who we think is worthy
to enter the Lord’s Kingdom.
Some people are very unlikeable.
God does not play favorites.
He made each one of us.
All of our attributes and skills and annoyances.
Maybe the annoyances are a part of the fall of man.
They also could just be unhoned skills or attributes
that God has not been able to transform due to various reasons.
We have our prejudices of people.
God is not impressed.
We do not know better than God.
We cannot see inside any human heart.
We do not have that ability.
We can’t even see inside our own heart
until the Holy Spirit reveals parts of it to each of us.
We like certain people for our own reasons.
God does not want us to favor the rich
when they enter our houses of worship.
Sit here or there.
We are wise to not be overcome by their pretentiousness.
My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory,
with respect of persons. For if there come unto your assembly
a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel,
and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing,
and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place;
and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
Hearken, my beloved brethren,
Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith,
and heirs of the kingdom which He hath promised to them that love Him
But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you,
and draw you before the judgment seats?
Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin,
and are convinced of the law as transgressors. James 2:1-9
Some people have obnoxious habits.
When we experience people we might not like
do things or say things that might irritate us,
that is when we can let God’s Love cover a multitude of sins.
God has the grace for us if we will ask Him for it, if we will receive it.
Some people, many might not like them or find them less than pleasant.
Just think of how much Jesus overlooked your faults.
Try to see these unlovlies with Jesus’ eyes, to love them with His love,
to forgive them for their less than desirable personality traits.
To extend grace and mercy and true love and kindness
from Jesus’ very heart.
