And he answered them, saying,
Who is my mother, or my brethren?
And he looked round about on them
which sat about him, and said,
Behold my mother and my brethren!
For whosoever shall do the will of God,
the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
Mark 3:33-35
Have you ever felt close to some of the brethren that you just met
and you didn’t understand it?
You were attracted to the Christ in them
They are part of Christ’s body, just like you
I’ve even had that experience with people I just met
Somehow we started talking about the Lord
and then it made sense as to why cohesion was already there,
when I had just met them
The brethren, those who follow after Jesus
are those with whom we are to be closely aligned
To put an importance on those relationships
of those who are dedicated to the Lord Jesus is pleasing to God
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Psalm 133:1
Gods people are strategically placed everywhere
He is ever-working to encourage each of us
and the bonds we have with those who serve Him are very strong
Woman behold your son!
When Jesus therefore saw his mother,
and the disciple standing by,
whom he loved, he saith unto his mother,
Woman, behold thy son!
John 19:26
I’ve met Christians who are very slithery, like a snake
I just want to get as far away from them as fast as I can
But the true believers are those who love God with all their hearts
and love their neighbor as themselves,
they are such a blessing, there is a connection,
a bond that we have with God’s people
A new commandment I give unto you,
That ye love one another; as I have loved you,
that ye also love one another.
John 13:34
It’s a beautiful thing
It is also very important to God
that we glorify Him by honoring the brethren
They will know we are Christians by our love for one another
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples,
if ye have love one to another. John 13:35
