The enemy hates God’s work.
He will try to stop it, disrupt it, make us stumble and fall into some sort of sin such as unforgiveness.
If we start operating in sin, that can and does inhibit God’s work through us.
One scripture that comes to mind often is that Jesus was kind to the evil and the unthankful.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again;
and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest:
for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Luke 6:35
Somehow I don’t think my reward will be great. I don’t think I’m going to win at that task.
Loving our enemies is hard. Being kind to them, I can do once in a while, but not consistently.
Loving them like I love someone I love? I fail at that.
Maybe God notices when we try, when we have good intentions?
Maybe us yielding our hearts to Him will help us let Him love through us.
That is the only way I can see that happening.
Being willing to let Him love through us is even very difficult with our true enemies.
We have promises with giving:
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together,
and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38
Give goodness, kindness, love and support for what is right.
