He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me:
and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
Matthew 10:37
Be open to the times when Jesus shows you your heart.
Who is first in your life?
You or God?
Your way or Jesus’ way?
I know a Christian couple whose daughter is involved in the occult.
They allowed her to move into their house.
She practices her beliefs while in their home.
They are subjected to her hatred and bitterness.
She has other bad fruit.
She also has had a negative influence on her parents spiritually.
Darkness and Light cannot dwell together.
The daughter has made her choice.
They could still help her, if they felt like that was their duty,
without having her live with them and influence their spirituality.
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?
and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14
We don’t have to live with someone in darkness
in order to be fellowshipping with them.
This can be any sort of person or relationship
where we are accepting them into our lives when they are in darkness.
This can be a friend, relative, co-worker, or anyone.
This does not mean we are to ignore them if they need help,
but keep in mind that Jesus has made it very clear
we are to choose Him above all else.
Those who participate in demonic activities
or worship of idols or other gods can cause us harm
if we invite them into our homes.
Don’t get entangled with their sin, keep yourself pure
and listen to His Holy Spirit regarding how He is directing you
to participate in any such relationship, even if it is with your child.
Comforting them in their sin can happen if they look to us for approval.
Walking with those who do not serve Christ
can be detrimental to our walk with God and our growth in Christ.
No man can serve two masters:
for either he will hate the one, and love the other;
or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.
Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24
While mammon is money and worldly wealth,
this idea can represent any worldly thing above God.
Our choices are ever before us.
The more we read His word and keep our eyes on Him,
our choices will become more clear.
Always seek Him when you are unsure.
He gives wisdom to those who ask.
