Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city,
and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life?
It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
James 4:13-15
We don’t tell God what we will do.
Our life is not our own.
We don’t tell God what to do.
We yield our lives to Him.

A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. Proverbs 16:9
It’s not always easy to succumb to God’s will.
Many famous biblical characters have not been able to bow to God.
They wanted their way and fought against God to try to make it happen.
They may have ruined things for themselves or other people or even disappointed God, but they didn’t really ever get their way.
The Pharisees couldn’t bow.
The Sadducees couldn’t either.
Cain wasn’t able.
The men of Sodom and Gomorrah couldn’t.
Esau couldn’t either.
The list would be too long to write
and their rise and fall can all be found in God’s Word.
Many in the New Testament and the Old, now regretting their choices.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
