Miracles are to Glorify God

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple
at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried,
whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful,
to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee:
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up:
and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength.
And he leaping up stood, and walked,
and entered with them into the temple,
walking, and leaping, and praising God.
And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
And they knew that it was he which sat for alms
at the Beautiful gate of the temple:
and they were filled with wonder and amazement
at that which had happened unto him
. Acts 3:1-10

That miracle caused many to wonder, many to realize Jesus was God’s son
They were awe-struck
Those miracles are for God’s glorification,
we should receive no honor for God’s work
Those in the bible who were given honor
or even worship by others, pointed to God
We should do the same
That also is a way you can recognize a false teacher
from one who follows Christ
A true follower of Christ does not seek their own glory,
but to encourage others to focus on Jesus Christ, The Messiah

And I John saw these things, and heard them.
And when I had heard and seen,
I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel
which shewed me these things.
Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant,
and of thy brethren the prophets,
and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
Revelation 22:8-9

And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him,
and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
But Peter took him up, saying,
Stand up; I myself also am a man
. Acts 10:25-26

If we do not point people to Jesus, what sort of a disciple are we?
The ultimate goal is to let everyone know who Jesus the Messiah is,
how He was God in the flesh and He chose to be the sacrifice for our sins,
that we might be reconciled to the Father
To receive any honor or glory or to claim that anything we do
is why someone is healed is pride and vanity

God’s miracles are to glorify Jesus
