Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
The peace Jesus speaks of is not of this world.
In our minds, we like to have everything just so
and then we can rest and be at peace.
He wants us to rest in Him, to keep our focus on Him.
Perhaps in the midst of trials and turmoil.
He can appear to be asleep in the boat.
And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow:
and they awake him, and say unto him,
Master, carest thou not that we perish? Mark 4:38
Let Him have the preeminence,
Let the problem be submitted to Him.
He reaches out to us to elevate us to heavenly places
where we realize He cares, that He is not asleep in the boat,
and that He loves us and is working on our behalf.
According to Romans 8:28,
And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose..
We are not to fret.
Easier said than done.
When things look chaotic and there seems to be no answer,
Jesus is our answer, Jesus has the answer.
Maybe our thought could be:
Okay, God, I don’t know how You’re going to work this out for good,
but I know You will
because I love You and am called according to Your purpose.
Thank You for that promise
It’s really easy, don’t you see?
Not so fast.
It comes from trusting Him and seeing Him work
and then remembering what He did.
Remembering what He has already done in the past.
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb
and the word of their testimony
and they loved not their lives unto death.
Remember your testimony.
Both when you realized He was God of Heaven and Earth
as well as the things He has done in your life since then.
We forget.
We forget what God did before because this is a new situation,
a new problem, a bigger obstacle.
We need more faith.
It helps to remember and reflect on what He has already done.
So then, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17
If you want to walk in Jesus’ peace,
get in the word and see how Jesus worked already in His word.
The many miracles He performed both in the Old and New Testaments.
We can allow Him to increase our faith by His Holy Spirit,
Who is always near to bear witness of the Truth.
Part of that being what He has already done in the past
and knowing we can call upon Him
to help us now with whatever we are facing.
It is not always easy to get there.
To completely trust and rest and know that He is working,
that He truly cares about our situation and has a plan.
That plan always includes Him,
if we are walking in the path that He has laid out for us,
that plan always includes Him.
He knows the end from the beginning
and has control of every situation that has been yielded to Him.
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven,
and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones,
or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him,
and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
And he is the head of the body, the church:
who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
that in all things he might have the preeminence. Colossians 1:16-18
