Think not that I am come to send peace on earth:
I came not to send peace, but a sword. Matthew 10:34
For the sake of peace, do not bow to the world.
The Lord does want worldly peace, but peace between God and man.
Jesus will bring peace to Earth as He is the Prince of Peace.
Jesus brings peace on His terms.
He did not bring peace many times when people would have liked to see peace.
For His own Son, God let the crowds speak.
His own Son was killed and God could have given the world peace right then.
He is not seeking world peace.
The peace came when Jesus died on the cross
and rendered the devil powerless.
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood,
He also Himself likewise took part of the same;
that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death,
that is, the devil; Hebrews 2:14
So, while Jesus holds the victory,
He allows the devil to destroy peace in the world.
Jesus continues to bring peace between man and God.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon His shoulder:
and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God,
The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
The next scripture goes on to speak of His government. Jesus did not have an earthly government, so a reminder this peace is not always a peace that the world experiences. Sometimes, yes, God gives us peace from every side. If we focus on worldly peace, we will be misled and we will mislead others.
Our mission remains that we are to preach the gospel to every creature.
We are to get along with everyone as much as is possible and that our main focus is on Jesus and what He asks of us, not to focus on what man asks of us.
The Peace Jesus gives is not as the world gives.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
