It’s so easy to get caught up in our own little world
The people, the jobs, the culture, the rules, the norms, etc.
I happen to be in a job that I am over qualified for
I chose it due to circumstances but also,
I want to just go to work and come home
without all the extra responsibilities
I work for people who know less than I do
They do not care about my advice
I see mistakes
I sought the Lord about this
“You are where I want you. Let the greatest among you be your servant.”
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh;
not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance:
for ye serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:22-24
No one is particularly mean to me
I feel dismissed a lot and unimportant
I have been kicked out of a shared office,
told to keep quiet about things I know are incorrect
It is quite difficult at times
The boss never has time for me
Any time I have requested to speak to her,
I have been hurried to get to the point and get out of her hair
It’s quite humbling
It reminds me how unimportant our little world is,
our world that seems so big
Our daily life, which consists of people, usually the same people,
for the most part, can become so dominant
We can end up working to serve them
If we’re not careful, our convictions can become quiet
it is important that we remember our real home,
whom we really serve, and that our little world,
which can be so big, in level of importance, be put in its place often
If not, we can allow the cares of this world, our worries, our concerns,
to become too important, too big:
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches,
and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word,
and it becometh unfruitful. Mark 4:19
In everything, let Christ reign and rule in our hearts and minds
Your world will grow much smaller and the order of importance will be right:
And He is the head of the body, the church:
who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
that in all things He might have the preeminence. Colossians 1:18
