But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation,
a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him
who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light:
Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God:
which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10
I was praying for a precious soul this morning,
one whom I have been asking for the Lord to save for many years.
This scripture came to mind.
The Lord is the only One who can open his eyes.
The only One who can touch this guy’s heart for Himself.
The only One who can reveal the work that was done on the cross
for all who would willingly receive.
There is nothing I can say or do in the flesh for this man.
This has to be a work of God.
What I can do is pray and if the Lord gives me another direction,
I can do that.
I can’t rescue him.
I can’t save him.
I can’t make him see the Lord Jesus Christ.
That all belongs in the hands of the Lord.
Those of us who can see, we have been called from darkness to light.
We responded.
We can pray that our loved ones respond.
I have heard many testimonies where the person who was saved said,
My aunt was always praying for me, or my grandmother,
or my parents or my friend.
Prayer moves mountains.
Not the kind of mountains we can see, but mountains just the same.
Giant, insurmountable obstacles.
For verily I say unto you,
That whosoever shall say unto this mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and shall not doubt in his heart,
but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass;
he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23
God’s word never comes back empty.
Speak it, pray it, live it.
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light,
and from the power of Satan unto God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins,
and inheritance among them
which are sanctified by faith that is in Me. Acts 26:18
If we know God’s word is true and that He is not a man who can lie,
and we let His word grow and live in us as we serve Him,
we shall see mighty miracles.
The opening of the eyes of the spiritually blind is one such miracle.
Keep believing, keep praying for those the Lord has given you.
