Pliable Heart before God

You are the potter and we are the clay.
How is it that I can make my heart pliable to You?
Your thoughts are so vast and all encompassing
There are so many that I cannot number them
like the sands of the sea or the stars of the sky
How can I ever keep up and learn all that I need to know?
It seems I just learn one thing and then there’s another to learn
and another to work on
They just keep coming
I never attain the level I should be
The road is long and where is the rest?
The true rest is in the journey with You and knowing You better along the way
accepting Your completed work as my sin is revealed,
remembering Your work on the cross
We will never be perfect in our own strength
How can we fulfill Your expectation of us?
Becoming one with You and Your ways?
It seems to be an impossible task
Be ye perfect even as your heavenly Father is perfect
Perfection, we cannot get there on our own strength, knowledge and power
That’s okay
What separated Adam and Eve from You in the beginning
was the fact that they were hiding from You
Hiding their deeds as well as thinking they could hide from You
Let us not hide our sin, but remember that You want to help us to overcome
Just like when Ananias and Sapphira lied to You and died, on the spot

I once said to the Lord, I am selfish. I do not think I can share like the early church did in the book of Acts. Look at Ananias and Sapphira, they died. He answered me, “Ananias and Sapphira did not die because they were selfish, they died because they lied to the Holy Ghost” In other words, tried to hide their sin from God.

Oh, so it goes back to the hiding of sin.
Had Ananias and Sapphira said they didn’t want to share,
that wouldn’t have angered God,
that would’ve been them confessing their sin,
laying it on the table and God can easily deal with that,
we can learn to draw on His strength for whatever we are working on
but hiding things from God,
that’s where the problem is
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
I am still selfish, but not as much
I continue to be a work in progress and I suppose will be until
Jesus takes me home one way or another

Matthew 5:48

And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. Genesis 3:8

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things. Acts 5:1-11

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
