We can power struggle with God.
We also can have others power struggle with us to get us to serve them.
These are modern-day Hamans.
Could be a he or a she.
Very much like Haman.
With the desire to be elevated.
Expecting others to bow as they go by.
Thinking they are the top dog.
Power struggles are more than tiring.
Someone who tries to be the boss, but is not the boss of you.
They hand out directives that must be followed.
If such a person manipulates and demands you serve them, be kind,
but worship the Lord and serve Him only.
Haman walked about angry because Mordecai would not bow to him.
There are people like that who wish to be adored and they seek the praise of others constantly.
And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence,
then was Haman full of wrath. Esther 3:5
We can be gracious and giving, but not because someone wants us to serve them. Humans are not God. Humans are made in the image of God. Some people want to be like God. Laying down our struggles with God is an offering to God, to give Him our life. We don’t have to do that. We can choose to be worshiped as well. If we give up our power struggles with God and serve Him,
we can then see how others want us to serve them. That does not feel right.
For thou shalt worship no other god:
for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Exodus 34:14
There are some humans who are jealous over us, meaning they want to control our lives. Be careful. Worship Jesus if you have chosen His path,
and unless you have chosen to allow someone to have a great say in your life, your life belongs to God.
There is no human who should be an idol to us
if we serve the Lord God Almighty.
God’s expectation from us who follow Him
is to put Him above all others and worship Him as God, the ONLY God.
