Looking for your soon coming return
The signs are there like You said in Your word:
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. (Matthew 24:6)
The parable of the 10 virgins remind us of how important it is to be ready
5 were wise and prepared and 5 were foolish, yet not prepared (Matthew 25:1-13)
Sometimes I look up at the sky,
I try to imagine what it will look like when Jesus returns
As the lightning shines from the east and flashes even unto the west,
so shall be the coming of the son of man (Matthew 24:27)
When the angels gather us together to meet you in the air
so shall we ever be with You (Mark 13:26&27)
I can imagine the looks of surprise mingled with sorrow on the faces of those who refused to listen to your call on their life
Who lived their lives their own way,
instead of seeking You,
Who got caught up in the things this world has to offer
whether it be tangible or intangible (1 John 2:15)
Those who refused to love the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10)
Those who refused to pick up their cross and follow You (Luke 14:27)
Or those who served money or self rather than You (1 Timothy 6:10)
They will be ashamed and realize
their folly was emptiness and ultimate devastation (1 Peter 1:24&25)
Help us prepare, Lord Jesus and keep our lamps filled with oil
which are the things you command us in Your word
Let us remember time after time you warned people
those who listened were spared
and those who did not were caught unaware
Remember Lot and Noah who listened to your voice and despite how silly they looked, they listened anyway and were spared (Genesis 19:14) & (Genesis 6&7)
We also seem foolish to the unbelieving (1 Corinthians 1:18)
Help us to look for ways to please You in our everyday lives and to remember that each choice we make is one that could and probably does impact eternity
Let us receive Your gift of Salvation and know that You paid the price
so that we can be reconciled to the Father (John 14:6)
You open doors in our lives that no man can shut
and shut doors no man can open (Revelation 3:8)
We can trust that if our hand is in Yours, on this narrow road, that You will guide us, give us wisdom and correct us as we walk with You (Matthew 7:14)
Come Lord – Amen and Amen!
