Preparing for Jesus’ Return

He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. Mark 13:26-27

His glory will shine from one end of the heavens to the other

Behold, he cometh with clouds;
and every eye shall see him,
and they also which pierced him:
and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.
Even so, Amen. Revelation 1:7

It will not be a pleasant day for the many who have rejected Jesus,
those who worked against Him in various ways,
who refused to acknowledge that
He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
This is what they have to look forward to:
And said to the mountains and rocks,
Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him
that sitteth on the throne,
and from the wrath of the Lamb: Revelation 6:16

When Jesus returns to earth
It will be triumphant, without question
Every eye shall see Him
There will be nowhere to hide
All the people who have rejected Him will see Him
All of us who have waited for Him will see Him
His name is above every name

And he saith unto him,
Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Hereafter ye shall see heaven open,
and the angels of God
ascending and descending upon the Son of man. John 1:51

So, that’s His return.
What can we look for leading up to His return?
Now learn a parable of the fig tree;
When her branch is yet tender,
and putteth forth leaves,
ye know that summer is near:
So ye in like manner,
when ye shall see these things come to pass,
know that it is nigh, even at the doors. Mark 13:28-29

What things is He referring to?
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ;
and shall deceive many.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars:
see that ye be not troubled:
for all these things must come to pass,
but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom:
and there shall be famines, and pestilences,
and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:5-8
But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you,
and persecute you,
delivering you up to the synagogues,
and into prisons,
being brought before kings
and rulers for my name’s sake. Luke 21:12
Now the brother shall betray the brother to death,
and the father the son;
and children shall rise up against their parents,
and shall cause them to be put to death.
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake:
but he that shall endure unto the end,
the same shall be saved. Mark 13:12-13

It will be a most happy day for those who love His appearing,
who have prepared in the way He has given to us to prepare:
Keeping our lamps filled with oil (Matthew 25:1-13)
Carrying our cross daily (Luke 9:23)
Putting our hand to the plough and not looking back (Luke 9:62)
love not the world and the things in it (1 John 2:15)
Believing that He died on the cross
and was raised from the dead (Romans 10:9)
forgiving as He has forgiven us (Ephesians 4:32)
Bearing one another’s burdens to fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2)
Treating others as you would like to be treated (Luke 6:31)
Loving your enemies…and those are just a few (Matthew 5:44)
The rest are also in His word
Beloved, now are we the sons of God,
and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:
but we know that, when he shall appear,
we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
