Big subject
No way one person can have all the answers
It’s up to each of us to get with God
and hear what He is asking from each of us
How to prepare ourselves for Jesus’ return?
The number one thing to remember is to fear the Lord
Remember that He is God and He is Sovereign and Mighty
Fear Him who is able to cast body and soul into Hell
Fear Him whom you will face
and answer for all your deeds and your idle words
Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
To them who by patient continuance in well doing
seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: Romans 2:6-7
He said He is coming for a church without spot of wrinkle:
That he might present it to himself a glorious church,
not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing;
but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:27
Removing the spots and wrinkles can be uncomfortable
We have to see them before that can happen
It is a joint effort
It is a relinquishing of ourselves to God, our Creator
and allowing Him to cleanse us
Get things on the table
No hiding or ignoring anything
Spend time asking Him to reveal the depths of your heart
Seek His will
Learn of His holiness
Learn of His grace and mercy
Do not be afraid to show Jesus your sin
or be deceived into thinking that He will not forgive
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10
An offering to God of sin is a beautiful thing
It is then He can cleanse your heart
and your mind and bring you closer to Himself
Jesus appreciates it when we cry out to Him to cleanse our sin
When we ask Him to help us truly repent,
to truly walk in the newness of life:
Come now, and let us reason together,
saith the Lord:
though your sins be as scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson,
they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18
Do not forget to avoid evil
Allowing yourself to participate in evil will keep you spotty and wrinkled
Cut that sin off
Be willing to let Him purify you
Do not justify evil
Or say to yourself, God is gracious
and I cannot possibly be perfect
He knows how much effort you have put into something
He is the only one who can excuse us
We cannot excuse ourselves
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. John 8:34
Be a servant to Christ by letting Him wash you
Let Him live through you
Do not be ashamed of Him
For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words,
of him shall the Son of man be ashamed,
when he shall come in his own glory,
and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels. Luke 9:26
Be unashamed
Be boastful of the Lord and of what He has done in your life
Let your light shine
Forgive that you may be forgiven
Hear the cries of the poor that you also may be heard
The inner workings of faith in your life,
no matter how small they may seem are great
Miracles done by our Lord
He wants to expound on those
For without faith it is impossible to please God
But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
Look to Him
Draw on His strength
Bring every thought captive
Love not the world
Fill your lamp with oil
We reflect Jesus light We must not let our lights go dim
And oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil,
and for the sweet incense, Exodus 35:8
Concentrate on Him
Seek His face
Remove idols far from you
Serve the Lord with gladness
Realize that this world and its desires are emptiness
