(For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you)
lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee,
and destroy thee from off the face of the earth. Deuteronomy 6:15
Consider your priorities.
Those are between you and God.
People might want you to answer to them, but ultimately,
what you do with your time and how you spend it is between you and God.
Of course God wants you to take care of your family, your spouse, your children, and others, your neighbor, your brother or sister in Christ.
All of those are considered important to the Lord,
but Jesus should be our first priority, always.
If you give yourself a basic rundown of your time spent during your day,
you could have a strong idea of your percentages.
One way to look at it is God should always be included 100% of the time.
But if we do not put Jesus first in our day and give Him our best,
He gets the leftovers and that shouldn’t be.
If God were really living in your household,
there with you every moment, in person,
consider then how you might give Him your time.
With our relationships, we have some people
who are more demanding than others of our time.
Maybe it’s our spouses or our children?
Our God is a jealous God.
He wants us to serve Him first and foremost.
For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
Deuteronomy 4:24
When you think of your time, give God quality percentage of your time.
Consider giving God 100% of how you spend the rest of the day
to please God when you are alone and with others.
Ask yourself what should I give God of my time?
The only One who can answer that question is God Himself.
Seek Him about your priorities and percentages in each day,
even in each situation, with each person.
His directive might be very different from what you thought.
It’s always good to ask. He will surely tell you.
He has a way to get through to us if we are listening.
