And an highway shall be there, and a way,
and it shall be called The way of holiness;
the unclean shall not pass over it;
but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men,
though fools, shall not err therein. Isaiah 35:8
How do we become pure and holy?
There is only one way, One Way
How do we cleanse our sins?
How do our hearts become pure?
How do we become new creatures in Christ?
How do we become pure and holy?
Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God.
And ye shall keep My statutes, and do them:
I am the Lord which sanctify you. Leviticus 20:7-8
The answer is always Jesus
This is not a physical cleansing
This is spiritual and offering our bodies, our spiritual temples to Him
A sacrifice of obedience
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1
And, we must become active participants
Refusing to indulge in sin
The highway of the upright is to depart from evil:
he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. Proverbs 16:17
We can never expect to be holy because of anything we do
Jesus is the purifier of our hearts and the One who cleanses our sin
And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only,
but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2
God wants us to keep our misgivings constantly before Him
so that He can help us,
once we have given Him something, He starts working
If we give Him our life, He starts the work,
teaching us, giving us strength and wisdom
The more we seek His face,
the more He can take over and get the gunk out
It’s a process
Our response to Jesus can start and continue that process
Being confident of this very thing,
that He which hath begun a good work in you
will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:6
