When we push Jesus aside, we are acting in pride.
When we choose our own thoughts over His,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
When His word is not in all our thoughts and considerations,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
When this world is full of its demands and we succumb to them,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
Whenever we choose to honor a human above Him,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
When we refuse to let Him handle difficult circumstances,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
When our judgments upon others cause us not to love,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
If we refuse to love those who do not love us,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
When we retain unforgiveness,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
When our voice is heard and its emptiness resounds,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked:
for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7
If we live for ourselves and do not seek the Lord
as to where and how He wants us to follow Him,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
If we retain our rights and our position in this world,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
When we blast our good works for all to see,
we are pushing Jesus aside.
Let us be reminded, by His Holy Spirit,
that we are to walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1
It is pleasing to God, to keep Jesus in the forefront of our minds and tasks.
Let our lives and efforts be for Him alone and He will reward us as He sees fit.
So that your merciful deeds may be in secret,
then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Matthew 6:4 WEB
This is also considered giving and alms,
anything we give to the Lord such as time or anything at all to the Lord
or to others on the Lord’s behalf, acting as He would if He were in your body.
This means, you don’t really give for your own pleasure,
but to please the Lord, expecting nothing in return from the person,
but knowing that God sees and He will reward you.
What a beautiful thought.
If only we can remember that promise of God as we walk through our days,
being mindful of His will and not our own, not pushing Jesus aside.
