Mistakes happen.
Sometimes we make mistakes that were intentional.
Those are not really mistakes.
God still will forgive us.
If we repent, God will forgive as He has promised in His word.
Jesus is the ultimate Judge
and He will give us our rewards for our deeds.
As long as we have sought Jesus’ forgiveness with repentance,
we won’t hear again about the bad things we have done.
Here are two solid verses that will help.
Memorize them, let them into your mind and spirit
and then know by faith that Jesus has paid the price for those sins:
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord:
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18
AND
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
There are many other scriptures that give us assurance about being forgiven.
Satan would have us hash and rehash our past and what we have done.
Paul had to realize God’s mercy and remember it at times:
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation,
that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
1 Timothy 1:15
If we choose to try to ignore things or hide things from God,
we will have to deal with those things.
We have to deal with them one way or another.
Let God show you His mercy, then, show His mercy to others.
For the measure you give will be the measure you receive.
If He brings something to remembrance,
make sure you have sought His forgiveness and cleansing blood.
And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves,
for love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8 WEB
Accepting God’s forgiveness and mercy can be hard.
It helps if you consider what you have been forgiven for,
it then makes it somewhat easier to forgive others who have wronged you.
God’s best is that we accept His forgiveness
and then extend that mercy to others.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:7
Make God happy and share His mercy.
