For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21
What is this treasure Jesus is speaking of?
It is not earthly treasure, but the metaphor stands. It is similar to earthly treasure, but it’s spiritual.
How do you find this treasure since it isn’t tangible?
How do you even know what it is?
How do you know it when you see it when it can’t be seen with the natural eye?
Do you see it or do you feel it or do you just know it when you’ve found it?
What is this treasure that made Moses leave the family of the Pharoah and find his Jewish roots? His Jewish God?
What is it that made Jacob wrestle with God until the break of day?
What treasure made Noah work for years and years and build the ark with the exact specifications given to him by God?
Who is this God that people are drawn to and they will give up their lives, suffer tremendously and painstakingly?
Like Elijah when he had to run from death and hide in a cave?
What if he had just kept his mouth shut? Jezebel would’ve left him alone.
What about Mordecai? What if he had just bowed to Haman? Then, Haman would’ve let him be
and might not have hated the Jews so much.
Mordecai understood the treasure of God.
And Daniel who was thrown into the lions’ den for refusing to bow to the king’s idol.
Or what about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego whose lives would have been easier
if they worshipped the image that King Nebuchadnezzar thought they should.
They met their treasure in that fiery furnace:
He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt;
and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Daniel 3:25
Even the King was able to see the treasure with his natural eyes. Did he understand?
Yes he did.
Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language,
which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces,
and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. Daniel 3:29
Can any human fully explain Heaven’s Treasure, not exactly. The Holy Spirit can though, ask Him.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in My name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24
