Remember when you were a little kid?
That thought brings either a flood of good memories or a flood of bad
or everything in between.
If you think about your early years, you have some memories that stand out.
They seem almost like another person, like another lifetime, so long ago.
This realization can remind us how short life is.
Job said, Oh, remember that my life is a breath!
My eye will never again see good. Job 7:7
and in the Psalms:
Man is like a breath; His days are like a passing shadow. Psalm 144:4
When you’re on a flight or a long drive, you may look at the clock,
the amount of miles behind you or before you
to give you a mark of when you are to arrive.
We are on a life journey now. We have a short amount of time left,
no matter where we are in our journey, we have the time given to us out of eternity and we will see the Lord, one way or another, to stand before Him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord,
that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord
shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Whether we meet Jesus in the air while alive or if we die before that time,
we will meet the Lord sooner than we think.
That meeting will be glorious to those who have chosen to follow Jesus
and who have put their trust in Him as their Lord and Savior.
my childhood brings a flood of memories mostly good. Raised in a home that had the love of Jesus in it and lived as such. Although of course at times wayward i am thankful for the love, mercy, and grace of our Savior and look forward to seeing Him in His fullness.
It is so good to have those who have been solid in the Lord to help keep the rest of us grounded.
