Risking Salvation

There were warnings Jesus gave to us
If we don’t honor Him and live for Him, we are risking our salvation
Our names could be blotted out of the Book of Life

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment;
and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life,
but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.

Revelation 3:5

Fear God
Remembering who God is and that we are mere mortals:
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 10:28

Humility
Have humility before God
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
1 Corinthians 10:12

Jesus requires much of us in every way
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Romans 14:12

Obey the Truth
But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth,
but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil,
of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good,
to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
For there is no respect of persons with God
. Romans 2:8-11

We know the parable of The Wicked Servant (Matthew 18:21-35)
who did not forgive as he was forgiven
Jesus was not pleased and He gave us a warning
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him,
O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt,
because thou desiredst me.
Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant,
even as I had pity on thee?
And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors,
till he should pay all that was due unto him.
So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you,
if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Matthew 18:31-35

To choose not to forgive is pride
It is taking the burden that belongs to God upon oneself
We are instructed that vengeance belongs to the Lord
For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses
. Matthew 6:14-15

All of these warnings from the bible are given to help us
They are all reminders to fear the Lord
and to remind us of what He has done for us
His grace and mercy are plentiful toward us and continue in us that we may give that same mercy and grace to others
If we hold that back or remain angry and hateful to anyone about anything,
we are choosing not to trust God
and then He may not extend grace and mercy to us
Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:7

Jesus wants us to love our enemies and to demonstrate what He has given us
If we want to see mercy from God when we come before His throne,
let us practice and develop the mercy He allows us to draw from Him,
even to others who may have hurt us or wronged us,
and those we feel do not deserve any mercy at all, just like us

Scriptural References:

For we know him that hath said,
Vengeance belongeth unto Me, I will recompense, saith the Lord.
And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
Hebrews 10:30

Ye have heard that it hath been said,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you,
do good to them that hate you, and pray for them
which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good,
and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye?
do not even the publicans the same?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others?
do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect,
even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 5:43-48
