Jesus said fear Him who has the power to cast you into Hell, fear Him.
In other words, our salvation is not of anything we do,
we will be relying on His mercy until the day He opens those gates for us.
Jesus is the door and each of the rules are in the bible:
how to get saved, how to be saved, how to stay saved,
even so, without God’s grace and mercy, we are lost.
While Salvation Assurance can be given to us,
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed,
not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence,
work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12
We each must work out our own salvation with the Lord.
Somehow, we have to learn to approach His throne with boldness
to find His grace and mercy, yet not as a demand but in reverent awe of Him.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy,
and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
It’s almost an oxymoron
How do you approach the throne boldly,
yet humbly to obtain mercy and grace?
With the fear of the Lord, that’s how.
If Salvation is a gift, then how can it be demanded?
Salvation can be accepted and considering each of those approaches,
the realization is that Salvation completely comes from Jesus,
not anything that we do at all, so, there is nothing for us to be proud of.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
Scriptural References:
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved,
and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
John 10:9
Jesus saith unto him, I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.
