We know about Ephesians and the full armour of God:
Put on the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:11-13
All of the admonitions of keeping the gaps filled are listed in Ephesians 6
How to keep ourselves sealed up, and how to walk in God’s strength
When Nehemiah was sealing up the holes in the wall
that protected Jerusalem, it took a lot of work and much preparation
There were many gaps and areas where the enemy could encroach
Jerusalem was not strong and Nehemiah sought the Lord
and His wisdom and fortitude to fortify the walls of the Holy City
as it represented God’s dwelling place on Earth
We represent God’s dwelling place on Earth
and if our walls are not sealed and protected,
we are not as useful for the Kingdom as we could be: 1 Corinthians 6:19:
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
So, we are His temple and our walls should be fortified and protected
by the things of God as we are instructed in Ephesians 6,
and like Nehemiah worked to make sure there were no openings
where the enemy could enter or do damage to the Holy City
With much painstaking effort and meticulous planning, many men worked together to fortify and strengthen the wall, it was completed:
Now it came to pass, when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time
I had not set up the doors upon the gates;) Nehemiah 6:1
So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul,
in fifty and two days. Nehemiah 6:15
Finally, it was completed and the enemies were very angry
because they were no longer able to attack
