Search for your own treasure.
Have you ever heard of something that Jesus showed someone else?
And you know it’s of God? And you want to hear more, to know more?
Don’t try to hear what that person receives from God
as a way to hear from God.
Search for your own treasure,
not just the crumbs that fall from someone else’s table.
He has things for you, wonderous things to show you,
amazing revelations in His word, amazing revelations about Himself.
Seek Him.
Follow hard after Him.
Learn from Him yourself.
Invest in your relationship with God.
Spend time with Him.
Let Him teach you.
Eat from His hand.
Let Him give you your daily bread and the Living Water that He promised us.
Don’t be satisfied with what Jesus teaches other people.
Those things also may be beautiful and glorious.
Jesus has treasures for you, just you.
Jesus also has treasures for you to share that will bless others
so that they might desire to find their treasures in the Heavenly kingdom.
Until He teaches you and shows you, you will not know or understand.
Your relationship with Jesus is to be cultivated and nurtured.
Spend time with Him, basking in His presence.
If you spend time with Jesus,
He will reveal more of Himself to you.
Often it is just a glimpse.
Not necessarily some large revelation, but a peek of His glory.
We often can’t handle too much.
He has given us the Kingdom.
We are His temple.
He dwells within us, but little by little, we can see more of Him.
Little by little, we understand more about Him.
Seeking Him often is important. Very important.
Always put Him first in your life.
Always put Jesus first in your day.
You will find the treasure that the Bible speaks of,
that the man who sold all that he had so he could buy the field.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field;
the which when a man hath found, he hideth,
and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man,
seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price,
went and sold all that he had, and bought it. Matthew 13:44-46
The rich, young ruler did not value the spiritual things above all.
We cannot serve God and money and the world,
we will choose one over the other.
Put aside worldly wealth and search for heavenly treasures.
And never be content with what Jesus has shown someone else.
Give Him the opportunity to teach you and reveal Himself to you.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth,
where moth and rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him,
One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast,
and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven:
and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.
And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved:
for he had great possessions.
