Search me, O God, and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts:

Hiding things from God will not work
He sees what is done in secret
He searches our hearts and tries the reins (the seat of our emotions)
I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins,
even to give every man according to his ways,
and according to the fruit of his doings. Jeremiah 17:10
If we give our lives to God,
we will have the task of being an open book to Him
That means He will reveal things in us that He wants us to deal with,
with His help of course
Things to pray and maybe fast about,
parts of our inward selves that get in the way of holiness
and being sanctified before Him
The stripping away usually takes a while,
the more we surrender, the deeper the cleansing goes
and with that, the closer we get to our Lord,
to understanding Him
and caring what He thinks of our lives above all others
But as we were allowed of God
to be put in trust with the gospel,
even so we speak; not as pleasing men,
but God, which trieth our hearts.
