For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
Since the Word of God is Jesus, the Word of God is truth and righteousness
The Word of God is also alive, living and breathing
That is why we are not to get rigid in our interpretation of it
In the beginning was the word
and word was with God and the word was God. John 1:1
That means Jesus is the Word
We cannot get locked into any particular interpretation of His Word,
otherwise, we are following doctrine
Agreeing with doctrine is not the same as following a doctrine
Jesus spoke in parables
He gave understanding to the disciples when they asked Him
Consider a study in Matthew 13 where Jesus explains to the disciples
why He hides understanding from some and gives understanding to others
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not;
and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. v 13
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. v 16
Since God’s word is alive, living, breathing,
if we lock our minds on one doctrine,
we are then not open to more and that is a tragedy and limiting
We could look at any portion of the bible and there could be many lessons, many interpretations, many teachings,
that does not mean all of them are right or all of them are wrong
Let’s consider Ephesians, chapter 6, the Full Armor of God
I have heard many teachings on this, some are more rich than others,
some are fleshly, and very much the milk of the word
and some have given me a second look at what that analogy means
When hearing these teachings,
you may recognize the Holy Spirit in the message
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:13
So never think you have it all figured out
Some people get very rigid in their doctrine
That can be debilitating in our walk with Christ
Be open to learning from the Holy Spirit
There are rich treasures and gems
that Jesus will share with us if we are open
His word has many facets
The truth won’t contradict itself or compete against itself
The truth stands and always exalts Jesus the Messiah
