The mysteries of God can come with a great deal of responsibility.
Everyone is trying to figure things out, to crack the code.
Spending all their time on what they don’t know yet.
When we spend time with Jesus, He reveals things,
the things He wants us to know.
That is best.
Does that mean you cannot search the scriptures for hidden treasures?
Not at all.
Don’t seek to know the mysteries of God,
seek to know the God of the mysteries.
You want to know the mysteries of God? Are you a puzzle-doer?
That may be one of your talents or gifts.
Let the Holy Spirit lead you and guide you into all truth.
Don’t go ahead of God,
and don’t lust for things above your quest to learn of God and His ways.
Let Him lead you while you carry your cross
and always keep Jesus as your focus.
And He is the head of the body, the church:
who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
that in all things He might have the preeminence. Colossians 1:18 KJV
Jesus should always be the center of our lives, of all that we do,
all of our thoughts,
the center of the love we have for others,
of all our relationships,
and the reason at the core of all we do and all that we are.
He is the Great I AM.
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Before Abraham was, I AM. John 8:58
He is the King in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Jesus is the fulfillment of all significance.
He is the greatest satisfaction any of us will ever experience.
To know Him fully will be the greatest gift
and most wonderful treasure that will ever be revealed to any of us.
Search the scriptures for God’s heart.
When you find it, you will see why Paul told us
to keep Jesus as the preeminence in all things.
What would you say if the Lord asked you what He could give you?
How would you respond?
Solomon responded that he wanted wisdom.
Another person I know asked the Lord to see open visions.
The best answer I can think of is to know Jesus’ heart.
I often think there will be those who go before His throne,
demanding they be let in,
approaching His Judgment seat without reverence.
They will present to Him their long lists of good works
that they have done in His name,
much like they present them before us, in hopes that we will admire them.
There will be some not accepted by God.
The whole of the world is filled with empty good works.
If we are proud of our accomplishments, we have things mixed up.
Solomon was considered the most wise man who ever lived, still is.
He asked God for wisdom and God gave him wisdom.
Solomon said the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
Solomon knew what wisdom was on every count.
He knew the Lord did not want him to marry strange wives, that is,
those women who did not serve the Lord God of Israel
for they would turn his heart away from the Lord.
That’s just what happened.
Solomon had the wisdom, but he rejected it.
And how does that happen?
The fear of God has to be real in you, it can’t be an idea,
a thought or a ‘something I need to do’, it has to be in the heart.
Solomon, in all of his wisdom, missed the most important thing that his father David knew well: seeking after God’s heart:
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee,
Thy face, Lord, will I seek. Psalm 27:8 KJV
The Lord told Jeremiah what He wanted from him:
And ye shall seek Me, and find Me,
when ye shall search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 KJV
Solomon never figured that out, or if he did, he chose not to seek after God.
And the Lord was angry with Solomon,
because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel,
which had appeared unto him twice,
And had commanded him concerning this thing,
that he should not go after other gods:
but he kept not that which the Lord commanded.
1 Kings 11:9-10
Do as he said, not as he did.
One man prayed earnestly to receive open visions.
He had been reading about and listening to others who had open visions.
He wanted one more than anything and that’s what he asked for.
He got one.
I know that first one was from the Lord. It was powerful.
Then, he got another one and that one also was from the Lord.
A few years later, he is not fully in the truth. He has error in his ministry.
I was puzzled about this and after having considered his desire
and that it was similar to Solomon’s request, the request for wisdom.
A caution: Seek not the wisdom of God, but seek the God of wisdom.
Seek not the visions of God,
but seek the God who gives visions and dreams, otherwise,
your focus may be off and deception might be lurking around the corner.
This concept can be applied to anything in this world.
Keep Jesus as the most important.
Jesus said He will say to many,
Depart from Me, I never knew you!
I never knew you.
Those people will be surprised. They will state their case:
Didn’t we prophesy and do all manner of deeds in Your name?
Maybe they did.
They said the right things, they did the right things.
On earth, they might have been thought of as respected,
even respected in the things of God,
but Jesus wasn’t impressed.
All those feathers in your cap will blow away
when you are before the presence of The Almighty God.
It will just be you and Him. Face to face, the God of Mysteries.
