Don’t be a miser
The more you give, the more you will receive again from the Lord:
Give, and it shall be given unto you;
good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over,
shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete
withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38
Both in the Old Testament and New,
The Bible is clear about what happens when you give
Giving is not just for monetary blessings
It counts for everything:
Helping your neighbor
Lending a hand to a stranger
Being extra kind to a sad person
Using your talents on someone who cannot pay you back
or any other kind of giving you can think of
God loves a cheerful giver
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give;
not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7
Everything we have is from the Lord
our intelligence,
our abilities, everything
If we hold back, when it is in our power to help or to bless someone,
we may miss out on a blessing from the Lord
Remember the little widow who gave more than all?
And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites,
which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples,
and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you,
That this poor widow hath cast more in,
than all they which have cast into the treasury:
For all they did cast in of their abundance;
but she of her want did cast in all that she had,
even all her living. Mark 12:42-44
Jesus was impressed with that widow
He told them all that He noticed it and thought she did well
Wouldn’t that be nice to have Jesus notice something we did?
Jesus reminded us that He sees everything
as well as the intent of our hearts and how we use our gifts for Him
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Colossians 3:23
Give
Don’t hide your light
Let go of what you are hoarding
Consider how you can help the Kingdom of God
with what God has given you be it material blessings or otherwise
Yield your talents and your gifts and your monetary blessings to the Lord
God will surely notice and your reward shall be great here
and in the Kingdom of God
We will reap what we sow be it good or not-so-good
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth,
that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7
