Specific Instructions
God gives us specific Instructions and has throughout The Bible
Take your staff and Moses parted the Red Sea
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea;
and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night,
and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. Exodus 14:21
He told the Israelites not to save the manna to the next day
or it would breed worms
Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses;
but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank:
and Moses was wroth with them. Exodus 16:20
God told Noah to build the Arc in a very specific way
with specific instructions of how to bring the animals on it:
Make thee an ark of gopher wood;
rooms shalt thou make in the ark,
and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of:
The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits,
the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
A window shalt thou make to the ark,
and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above;
and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof;
with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. Genesis 6:14-17
Moses hit the Rock with his rod and it drew water
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb;
and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it,
that the people may drink.
And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. Exodus 17:6
Some instructions disregarded have consequences
If you do this, then this will happen
There are consequences when we do not follow specific instructions
Then Moses did not follow specific instructions
Moses was told to take the rod and to speak to the rock,
but instead, he hit it twice with the rod
And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice:
and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank,
and their beasts also. And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron,
Because ye believed me not,
to sanctify Me in the eyes of the children of Israel,
therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land
which I have given them. Numbers 20:11-12
God was very angry and they did not go into the Promised Land
due to that disregard of Specific Instructions
A simple one I can never say enough both positive and negative:
For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15
Have the people sit down
Take the loaves and fishes:
And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fishes,
He looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves,
and gave them to His disciples to set before them;
and the two fishes divided He among them all. Mark 6:41
Go to this house and there will be a room
Prepare the feast there:
And He sent Peter and John, saying,
Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
And they said unto Him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
And He said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city,
there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water;
follow him into the house where he entereth in.
And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house,
The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber,
where I shall eat the passover with My disciples?
And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
And they went, and found as He had said unto them:
and they made ready the passover. Luke 22:8-13
Commandments with promises can be found in scripture
We are to honor our father and mother
Honour thy father and mother;
(which is the first commandment with promise;) Ephesians 6:2
Many commandments and instructions
There are many more examples Jesus provided in The Bible
Persons who had failed or succeeded in following instructions,
and promises or consequences for following them
If you look for them, you will find them
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before Me;
for the earth is filled with violence through them;
and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark,
and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of:
The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits,
the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
A window shalt thou make to the ark,
and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above;
and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof;
with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth,
to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven;
and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
But with thee will I establish my covenant;
and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife,
and thy sons’ wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh,
two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Of fowls after their kind,
and of cattle after their kind,
of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind,
two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten,
and thou shalt gather it to thee;
and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
Genesis 6:13-22
