Squelching the Pride

Pride was what caused Satan to fall from Heaven.
It is the stem of evil.
Pride removes the glory of God and steals it.
Its roots are in Satan.

Imagine, if in the Garden of Eden, Eve had gone before the Lord,
asking Him for clarification about what was meant after Satan enticed her.
Imagine if she asked humbly what the lesson was
because she had been tempted to eat from the tree
she was commanded not to eat from?
God would’ve clarified the deception.
We’ll never know what would have happened
if either one of them had asked the Lord for the truth.
Satan preyed on their pride.
That pride told them they could do what they wanted
and they didn’t need to obey God because they would be like God.
That still happens today.
His tactics haven’t changed.

It’s exactly what Satan said to Jesus:
And the devil said unto Him, If thou be the Son of God,
command this stone that it be made bread.
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written,
That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain,
shewed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
And the devil said unto Him, All this power will I give thee,
and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me;
and to whomsoever I will I give it.
If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be Thine.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind Me, Satan:
for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God,
and Him only shalt thou serve.
Luke 4:3-8

Satan has the world.
He does not worship the Lord God Almighty, but wants to be worshiped.
He is very proud of himself and his accomplishments and his power.
Those of us who worship God relinquish our lives to Jesus,
to keep Him as our focus.

Satan will keep trying to awaken the desire of pride that is in man that needs to be squelched before we can serve the Lord God willingly.
The devil is ever trying to get our attention, to turn our focus off of Jesus.
Be aware and the best way to refuse the pride
is to be humble before the Lord.
