Stale Manna

I met teacher of the Bible who has many teachings
She writes and performs videos
She advertises often about her work,
which is from the Bible
She has set up a small city of her revelations
They all seem to have truth

Once we set ourselves up as the teacher,
we are treading in dangerous territory
Teaching should only glorify the Lord, not the teacher in any way, shape or form
We do not own the teachings
Any teaching is given to encourage the student to draw closer to the Lord

Each person who follows the Lord
has a beautiful part of Jesus that has been revealed
Each of us, as unique individuals, have parts of our lives that He has touched
and parts of Himself He has shared with us that no one else has experienced
Nor can anyone take that away
Our relationship with our Savior is unique to us
He touched us the way He chose to
He opened our eyes to Himself differently than He did to anyone else
Each story of Salvation will be different
Even if many said, I went forward to the altar at church
Each person has a different experience
A special way the Lord touched them so that they saw who He is

As God’s children seek Jesus more, they will see more of His holiness
We will never fully arrive while we are here on earth
It will not be until we meet God face to face,
and He transforms us, that we will be able to know His glory
and then, there will be more to learn

Sharing the beauty Jesus shows us is part of our walk with Him
and of our helping others to draw close to Him,
loving the brethren
We also want to hear from each other
What has God been teaching you?
Maybe some are bashful in this regard,
maybe they aren’t used to hearing and seeing the lessons Jesus teaches them
They all must line up with the word of God in order to be righteous,
in order to be proven true,
Exercising our senses that we may learn from the Holy Spirit

Teachings are wonderful and they are often given to us by the Lord,
but God forbid if we make idols out of our teachings
Humility
After all, they do belong to us, but rather to the Lord

If you consider God’s revelations to you as Manna,
that is, the bread from heaven
that came down to the Israelites while they were in the wilderness,
where He provided food for them so that they could survive,
Manna was fresh every day
If they tried to save it, it became filled with worms and had a terrible odor
This is a metaphor to our relationship with Christ,
We cannot keep the same stale teachings we have learned or gained
and use them in every situation,
we must keep learning and growing and hearing from God,
fresh Manna
His word is living, it is alive, He is the Living God

I have an acquaintance who listens to podcasts often
and when talking to her, they always seem to come up in conversation,
all about whatever teaching she has been listening to most recently
“I heard a really good teaching the other day about this…”
I cannot say I remember one time where she applied one of the teachings
she has told me about to her life, which would make it more meaningful
While there is nothing really wrong with sharing someone else’s teaching,
I prefer to hear fresh Manna,
What has God been teaching you?
What has God been doing in your life?
Or how does this new teaching you have learned apply to your life?
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony

Jesus never said the same thing to teach a similar lesson
He relied on the Holy Spirit to supply freshness
and the perfect lesson for the moment
Walking with Him
Listening to Him
Looking to Him
Clinging to Him
Here’s an example of what I mean where Jesus talks about love. Not all references to love are listed here. Many times love came up. He answered differently each time:
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is,
Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:
this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these.
And the scribe said unto him,
Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God;
and there is none other but he:
And to love him with all the heart,
and with all the understanding,
and with all the soul, and with all the strength,
and to love his neighbour as himself,
is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. Mark 12:29-33

This is my commandment,
That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:12-13

A new commandment I give unto you,
That ye love one another; as I have loved you,
that ye also love one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples,
if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35

And as ye would that men should do to you,
do ye also to them likewise.
For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye?
for sinners also love those that love them.
And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye?
for sinners also do even the same.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye?
for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. Luke 6:31-34

These things I command you, that ye love one another. John 15:17

Jesus was never shared the same old, stale message, and we should strive to be similar

Scriptural References:

And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning. Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them. Exodus 16:19-20

But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
Jeremiah 10:10

  1. Great insight into the teachings of Jesus. We must desire fresh manna from him daily and be obedient in applying what we have learned in our lives. We havent really learned something if we dont apply it. Thank you sister❤
