Standing Falls in the Lord

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
1 Corinthians 10:12

Lord, keep me humble
Remind me that I am but dust
From dust I came and to dust will I return, someday
While I am here, let me glorify You
For that is the whole purpose of man

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do,
do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31

How do I do that which is good when I continue to fail?
Lord, let me be reminded when I fail that I am but dust,
a mere mortal with no good thing in me, apart from You
Let me walk in humility, remembering that I am a vessel, I am the clay,
and, You, Lord are the Potter, the One who molds me
into who You desire me to be, that is, who I desire to be
because that You have shown me
Let me not fall asleep to the reality that Your hands hold me up
when I rely on You, but the second I stop, I am reminded again how frail I am,
how I am just a branch that needs to be adhered to the stem
You are the only One who gives true life, not the life of this world,
but the spiritual life, the life we can only see through You,
that makes human lives rich,
that is far more true than anything we see, hear, or smell on this Earth

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:
for to will is present with me;
but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Romans 7:18

Good intentions must carry some weight with You
But even then, I am reminded how weak I am without You,
as those intentions may not come to fruition
and those intentions have no hope without Your help,
which brings me back to the realization: that without You, I can do nothing
Relying on Your strength, walking in the fear of You, God,
the brave humility before You, knowing that each step I take,
if I try to take it without You, I will fall, and that flat on my face
Only to be reminded that You are my source, my strength and without You,
I can do nothing good for Your kingdom

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without Me ye can do nothing
. John 15:5

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness,
and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

Revelation 1:5
