Stop Complaining About What I Said

But Jesus replied, “Stop complaining about what I said.” John 6:43 NLT

And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph,
whose father and mother we know?
how is it then that He saith, I came down from heaven?
Jesus therefore answered and said unto them,
Murmur not among yourselves.
No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him:

and I will raise him up at the last day.
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God.
Every man therefore that hath heard,
and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto Me.

John 6:42-45

They said, in other words,: Why do we have to listen to Him? Who is He?
Jesus told them Who He was. They didn’t like His answer.
They didn’t like His words and tried to discredit Him.
Jesus then said, “And they shall all be taught of God”.
To me, that tells us that God communicates with people
and some refuse Him.

How do people think they can discredit God?
Some try to reconcile their thoughts with what Jesus has clearly said.
They twist and add ideas and thoughts
and refuse to accept Jesus at face value, at His word.
This is extreme arrogance. It is pride and foolishness.
God’s word should be high above our thoughts.
It is less than respectful to trample God’s words
or pick out the words we like and toss the rest aside as invaluable.

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

We all need to cast down any vain imaginations we have against God.
What God has written in His word is intentional.
Be careful about discrediting God due to human intelligence.
That is full pride and is an insult to God.

For all those things hath Mine hand made, and all those things have been,
saith the Lord: but to this man will I look,
even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at My word.
Isaiah 66:2
Being humble and trembling at God’s word, in other words,
having the fear of God in your heart.

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then?
Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king.
To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world,
that I should bear witness unto the truth.
Every one that is of the truth heareth My voice.
John 18:37
Paraphrased partially: This is why I was born…to tell of the truth.
Everyone that is of the truth hears My voice.

Be of the truth. Love the truth. Search for the truth.
Seek God’s face to hear the truth,
so the Holy Spirit will open the truth up to you.
Submit to the truth. Humble yourself before the truth. Find the truth.
It’s all about Jesus who is the truth.
