When I say unto the wicked,
Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning,
nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way,
to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity;
but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness,
nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity;
but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Ezekiel 3:18-19
That warning was spoken twice to Ezekiel in Chapters 3 and 33.
We are our brother’s keeper.
I had a dream a friend was in Hell and I was not.
She said to me: “You knew about this place and didn’t tell me?
How could you have known about this place and not told me.
I thought I was your friend.”
We are not responsible for the hearers.
That is on them, what they do with the information.
Our work, our job is to stay in tune with Jesus
and follow His commandments.
There is quite a bit of relief in that thought from the Lord in the scriptures.
We are to share the gospel, we are to: Preach the word;
be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke,
exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 2 Timothy 4:2
We can walk away letting the seeds fall where they may
as we have done our part.
We are not responsible for how people hear.
The Lord may give them several chances to hear or it may just be once.
We do not know what is in their hearts, how they will receive it.
Even when we know they will not receive it, if the Lord prompts you,
share what He gives you.
That will be a testimony against them on the last day.
And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city,
shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. Luke 9:5
Additional Scriptures:
Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel:
therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from Me.
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die;
and thou givest him not warning,
nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life;
the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity;
but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness,
nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity;
but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness,
and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin,
and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered;
but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Nevertheless, if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not,
and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned;
also thou hast delivered thy soul.
Ezekiel 3:17-21
Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them,
When I bring the sword upon a land,
if the people of the land take a man of their coasts,
and set him for their watchman:
If when he seeth the sword come upon the land,
he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning;
if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning;
his blood shall be upon him.
But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet,
and the people be not warned;
if the sword come, and take any person from among them,
he is taken away in his iniquity;
but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from Me.
When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die;
if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way,
that wicked man shall die in his iniquity;
but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it;
if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity;
but thou hast delivered thy soul.
