Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Ephesians 5:20
This is what prompted me to write of thanking God for everything:
In every thing give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Thanking God for the unpleasant things?
That depends if you want to trust that God allowed things in your life that might seem bad.
Some will argue that we should not rejoice in the bad things.
That is not what this means.
Jesus is the author and giver of life.
He is the One who has given us life and choices
while we walk on the Earth.
He is always there to answer prayers, when they are asked.
He is our Maker and our Giver of Life.
Sometimes things in our lives produce benefits of greater purpose.
Jesus is always worthy to be praised.
There is no one explanation for why things go awry,
but God warned us that they would.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer;
I have overcome the world. John 16:33
When people turn from God, He allows the enemy to come in.
Sometimes He allows purifying in our lives.
Other times, it’s simple: He sends rain on the just and the unjust.
I don’t remember Job thanking God for all things wrong in his life.
I do remember hearing him bless the Lord in all circumstances.
God is God no matter what happens.
He didn’t forget you.
He did not fail you.
Let things be for a time and worship Him anyway, praise Him anyway.
When things settle down, when He has started to mend your situation or your heart, whatever the case may be,
then, let Him say what He wants to say,
let Him show you what He wants you to see.
If you accept the lessons and the trials and find Him in them,
you will be the better for it or them.
Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings,
knowing that suffering produces perseverance; Romans 5:3 WEB
