For thus saith the Lord of hosts;
After the glory hath he sent me
unto the nations which spoiled you:
for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
Zechariah 2:8
Now the Lord had said unto Abram,
Get thee out of thy country,
and from thy kindred,
and from thy father’s house,
unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation,
and I will bless thee,
and make thy name great;
and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee,
and curse him that curseth thee:
and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Genesis 12:1-3
Abraham left his people
God separated Abraham for His purpose
Though Lot joined Abraham,
the promise of promised land was
specifically to Abraham and his descendants
God sees Israel in a very special way
He loves them
He gave Abraham a promise long ago
that God will always give him
and his descendants a dwelling place
In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram,
saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land,
from the river of Egypt unto the great river,
the river Euphrates: Genesis 15:18
From the wilderness and this Lebanon
even unto the great river, the river Euphrates,
all the land of the Hittites,
and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun,
shall be your coast. Joshua 1:4
It is hard to understand
that He favors them but He does
Even though God is no respecter of persons
and He loves all of us the same,
with Israel, He has a special bond
Jesus came from the bloodline of these Jewish people,
many of them worshiped the same God that we worship
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God,
and the Lord hath chosen thee
to be a peculiar people unto himself,
above all the nations that are upon the earth.
Deuteronomy 14:2
They still worship the same God we worship
but cannot come close without Jesus
Abraham and Lot and Isaac and Jacob and Noah
and David and Job and Daniel and Jonah
The list goes on and on
Out of the Bible came the Pharisees and Sadducees
and the scribes whom the Lord is not fond of
The Jews were the ones who gathered together to kill Jesus
God loves His gentile children too
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
for it is the power of God unto salvation
to every one that believeth;
to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
to the Jew first and also to the Greek
He has kept His promises to His people, Abraham’s seed
The reestablishment of Israel on May 14, 1948
and winning the 6-day war miraculously
which allowed Israel to claim additional land
promised to them by God
They are not in possession of all the land God promised them
Those two events are recent examples
of God’s continued favor on Israel
The Bible has Israel in prophecy particularly in the End Times
and throughout the Book of Revelation
We know that all nations will rise against Israel
And in that day will I make Jerusalem
a burdensome stone for all people:
all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces,
though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Zechariah 12:3
For His reasons, God has not yet opened their eyes
and it is sad to think that many will embrace the AntiChrist
as he proclaims to be the Messiah they have been waiting for
Pray for as many Jews as can and will to come to Jesus
I heard a Messianic Jewish preacher the other day say,
“Pray for Israel first, the bible states that,
to the Jew first and also to the Gentile.”
And don’t forget to:
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
they shall prosper that love thee.
Psalm 122:6
