The Cleansing of The Water, The Blood and The Word

And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water,
and the blood: and these three agree in one
. 1 John 5:8

The word of God cleanses us
The word of God exposes sin to us,
the purpose of the Law that Jesus fulfilled
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin:
but now they have no cloke for their sin
. John 15:22
People don’t usually want to hear it
They want to continue to do what they want to do
They don’t want to know if they are not doing something right
They didn’t want to hear it from Jesus,
most won’t want to hear it from us either
It’s called loving the truth

We are called to speak the truth in love
We are admonished to warn of the coming destruction,
for each personally as well as for the world as a whole
Most people’s thoughts are mingled with the world
and are even elevated above the bible
Their self-righteousness gives them comfort and control
They don’t want to hear what God has said

I listened to a popular youtube preacher yesterday for a few minutes
He had committed adultery
I guess people have told him he is going to Hell for that
I learned a long time ago,
we mortals do not decide who goes to Hell and who does not
We also do not decide who goes to Heaven and who does not
These Judgments and decisions belong to Jesus
Jesus will either confess us and present us to the Father or deny us
No in between

In the video I watched for a few minutes,
the man decided to compare himself to
King David, Solomon, Queen Esther and others in the bible
who he said had also committed adultery
and that if he was going to Hell, so were they
My question to him was: Where is your humility?
My thoughts were these:
Do we demand forgiveness from Jesus?
Who decides whether or not we go to Hell?
What is God looking for in us when we confess our sin and seek forgiveness?
Can a sin send us to Hell?

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask,
and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death.
There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
1 John 5:16-17

If this man is comparing himself to other people in the bible
who have done what he considers a sin, he is missing it
Let him compare himself to them if he wishes
Jesus is the only One who can wash away our sin
Jesus is the One who bled and died and crushed our sin
He is also the One to whom the Father has given all authority
on Heaven and Earth to forgive sins
The only One
Jesus is the One who will be advocating for us to the Father, or not
At our final Judgment, Jesus will present us to the Father as His, or not
He alone is the only way we can receive forgiveness of sins
Banging your drum
of how you are just the same as other mortals who have walked before you,
and how you are in good company
is not going to fly when you are standing before God, the Righteous Judge

Jesus’ word washes us clean
Do not muddy the water with your human efforts,
otherwise you will not be clean
Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!”
Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.

John 13:8

This is the one to whom God looks:
For all those things hath Mine hand made,
and all those things have been, saith the Lord.
But to this man will I look: even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit,
and trembleth at My word.
Isaiah 66:2
This is what God is looking for: Humility and Fear, the fear of God
Don’t be deceived
Quit trying to fix it
Humble yourself and let Jesus wash you
Seek His mercy and forgiveness and don’t try to justify sin
That will not work
Seek His face and receive what He tells you by His Holy Spirit and His word

If we say that we have fellowship with Him,
and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar,
and His word is not in us.

1 John 1:6-10

It’s all about Jesus and Him forgiving
Don’t justify sin, don’t excuse it
Seek His forgiveness with a humble heart and hear what He says to you
The rest is between you and Jesus
