Thus saith the Lord,
The heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool:
where is the house that ye build unto Me?
and where is the place of My rest? Isaiah 66:1
Humans have no right to order God around, but some do just that
We are flesh and came from dust and will return to dust
The only things we do that will matter are those things that are of true value,
things we have done for the Lord:
to love, forgive, show kindness, faithfulness,
by obeying His commandments
and exhibiting all the attributes of Christ
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar,
and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:3-4
Nothing else we have done on this earth will amount to anything in eternity
For us to think of ourselves more highly than we ought,
we are deceiving ourselves
We dwell in a place that was created by a God so big, so powerful,
and so filled with splendor
that our finite minds cannot fully comprehend
the awesomeness of His beauty and holiness
That is why Jesus has to be the One to show us who the Father is
Because it is impossible to see with our human flesh,
our spiritual eyes must be opened
When the Holy Spirit is ever-testifying of God
there are those who are refusing to acknowledge who He is,
who are not interested in Jesus and His powerful presence
There are still those who would desire their own way
and choose not to worship the One true God
There are times when God tests mankind
He sent His angels to see if the people really were that bad
They scoped out Sodom and Gomorrah first-hand
The people were so evil that when the angles struck them with blindness,
they still tried to attack the angels by feeling with their hands
And they smote the men
that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great:
so that they wearied themselves to find the door. Genesis 19:11
God already knew their condition
For His reasons He chose to test them
Maybe that is because on their time of Judgment,
that test will testify against them
He tested the Israelites when He kept Moses for a while
and they decided to build a molten calf to worship
After God had done all those miracles,
He decided to see if they were able to respect Him as God
They were not
They did not understand who He was
even though He had shown them multiple times
What a tragedy
Let us not be that dense
Let our hearts be soft and tender toward the Lord so that He can teach us,
and let us remain humble before Him
so that we can remember who He truly is even though we cannot see Him
Help us O Lord to believe Your word
and know that when You speak,
Your word will not come back void
