There is an enemy within the enemy.
Be careful that can happen to any of us,
that is, to allow the enemy to operate through us,
to fall prey to his devices, and his deception.
He is always looking for an opening.
Keeping our focus on Jesus will keep Satan in his place.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Proverbs 4:23-24 NIV
This is where Jesus told us to be careful which kind of fruit we bear:
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart
bringeth forth that which is good;
and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart
bringeth forth that which is evil:
for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Luke 6:45
Ouch that is a harsh thought, that if we speak evil, it is from our hearts.
Fear God, never man and especially not the enemy.
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them:
for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee;
He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6
God takes care of our enemies so we don’t have to.
He has promised this throughout His word.
He will continue to fight for us, to protect us and to defeat the enemy.
Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
The second He shows you a failing in yourself, confess it and repent.
His efforts will be there for you to help you to draw close to Him
and to help you keep your focus on Him
which will always cause the realization of how small the enemy really is.
No matter who the enemy is, no matter how powerful he or she is,
that means nothing compared to how the Lord can and does
work out things in His ways.
What if Daniel had been afraid to pray
because the King’s servants were tying to intimidate him?
Or because he was afraid to get thrown into the lions’ pit?
Daniel knew the Lord was more powerful.
The same with King David, what if he had been afraid of Goliath or Saul?
But they weren’t afraid of the enemy, no matter what the outside looked like.
They feared the Lord God of Israel and served Him only.
Let us do the same and not give regard to the enemy within the enemy.
