The fear of God cannot be taught by men
The fear of God comes straight from God Himself
Nobody else can truly give you that knowledge
Only God can
Men cannot convey the true fear of God
They will water it down, explain how you are to have it,
true fear of God comes from God
Ask Him, seek Him to make sure you realize you have that reverence
You can read scriptures, and have an understanding
and learn what it means to fear the Lord but all of this is by the Holy Spirit Who leads you and guides you into all truth
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come,
He will guide you into all truth:
for He shall not speak of Himself;
but whatsoever He shall hear,
that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. John 16:13
The lack of the fear of God is so prevalent
Teachers cannot truly teach it
They can and do minimize it
Jesus told us:
And fear not them which kill the body,
but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28
It’s the beginning of wisdom
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10
Most Christians do not have a strong fear of the Lord
They think because of God’s grace they do not need a fear of the Lord
That is not the case
The fear is not that He will but that He can
You have to learn the fear of the Lord from God Himself
At any time, God can see those whose hearts are not perfect toward Him,
who may have chosen to hate or to cling to any other sin,
or not to forgive those who have trespassed against them,
they can still be cast into Hell even if they think they are saved
I didn’t say it, Jesus said it:
For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15
Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer;
they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:
They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way,
and be filled with their own devices.
For the turning away of the simple shall slay them,
and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely,
and shall be quiet from fear of evil. Proverbs 1:28-33
Seek the Lord, find the true meaning of the fear of God
The Holy Spirit is your teacher and guide and is there for you if you ask
Memorize this scripture and ask the Lord to remind you of it often:
For all those things hath mine hand made,
and all those things have been, saith the Lord:
but to this man will I look,
even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit,
and trembleth at my word. Isaiah 66:2
The fear of the Lord does not mean
you cannot get to the place where you know you are saved,
it does mean you do not take salvation for granted,
because then, you are pushing God aside
and demanding to be let in the Kingdom of Heaven by right
There is no right to the Kingdom of Heaven
Entrance there is by His grace and His mercy
Salvation is a gift, a very precious gift
Be sure that you are also extending
that same grace and mercy to others that has been given to you by God
