And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebrews 9:27 There are no second chances with life.
Those who love their lives will be disappointed when they stand before God.
They will have wished they had put more value in the Kingdom of God,
the Eternal Kingdom.
This Earth and World is so deceptive.
The lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
The pleasures that entice us, whether they be sin or not,
they can interfere with our dedication to the Lord.
There were a few characters in the bible who loved their flesh
more than they loved God, like Lot’s wife.
They served themselves more than they served God, like Ananias and Saphira.
Some of those did not end well, like the Rich, Young Ruler.
Some barely made it, like Samson.
Some were escorted from God’s presence, like Solomon.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it;
but whosoever shall lose his life for My sake and the gospel’s,
the same shall save it. Mark 8:35
If only we could realize what awaits us if we follow the Lord.
It is rewards and honors that we will receive,
but the greatest treasure we will find is knowing God.
That is the crux of the matter.
Those who miss that are missing the most important part of life and eternity.
This is not just my opinion but the opinion of many biblical persons before us.
Jesus the Messiah deserves honorable mention on this subject.
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17:3
Peter, one of Jesus’ disciples found the true meaning:
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18
Jeremiah found the meaning:
The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him.
Lamentations 3:24
And Job:
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another;
though my reins be consumed within me. Job 19:27
And King David:
When thou saidst, Seek ye My face; my heart said unto thee,
Thy face, Lord, will I seek. Psalm 27:8
And ye shall seek Me, and find Me,
when ye shall search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
