The Holy Spirit is often overlooked
Not spoken of much, it seems
Perhaps a little harder to relate to than Jesus or God the Father
We are told: Quench not the Spirit 1 Thessalonians 5:19
Nor are we to resist the Holy Spirit
Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears,
ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Acts 7:51
I think of the Holy Spirit as being God’s heart
We know He is the One who leads us and guides us into all truth:
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come,
He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself;
but whatsoever He shall hear,
that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. John 16:13
The Holy Spirit has been here since the beginning
He has always been a part of God
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:1-2
The Holy Spirit is mentioned several times in the Old Testament
King David knew and was aware of the Holy Spirit
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there:
if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. Psalm 139:7-8
The Lord Himself spoke to Zerubbabel of His Holy Spirit:
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying,
This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying,
Not by might, nor by power,
but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6
We are indwelt by the Holy Spirit if we belong to God
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16
And that is a very beautiful realization
