The Mighty God
Just one of several names God is referred to in the Bible
It is good to remember
that He is mighty, strong, powerful
As Isaiah said in chapter 9 of Jesus, The Mighty God is one of Hs many names, His attributes, who God is, who Jesus is
The Mighty God
If we stop in the gospels,
we see Jesus as the One who touched men’s hearts
People who do not know Jesus,
people who have not met Jesus, stop here
They like the Jesus that talks about love and forgiveness
and who did not take Himself down from the cross
even though He was encouraged to do so
That was His choice
He chose to die for you and for me
Those who don’t know Jesus ignore the fact
that He mentioned Hell several times
and told people many were going there…if they were listening
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate,
and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction,
and many there be which go in thereat: Matthew 7:13
Tre people back then who heard Jesus Himself talk about being the Messiah
and Hell and heard Him say that He and the Father were One,
those are of the many who shouted Crucify Him! Crucify Him!
to shut Him up
Crucifying Him didn’t shut Him up
He’s God
He will always be God
He will always be The Mighty God
We see His power and might in Revelation
and in the prophets of Old who described The End Times
and the fate of those who refused to acknowledge Him
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life
was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15
God will not always strive with man
And the Lord said,
My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh:
yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. Genesis 6:3
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found,
call ye upon him while he is near Isaiah 55:6
The door is closing
Those who have chosen not to serve Him will find out who God is,
how Mighty and powerful and awesome He is
Each one has his or her choice in life
Even those who choose their own way
will soon become acquainted
with The King of Kings and Lord of Lords, The Mighty,
the Awesome and the Terrible God
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:11
