I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day:
the night cometh, when no man can work. John 9:4
People get really misguided about the works of God.
Simply put, the works of God are spiritual.
They are not simple, they are complex.
You learn of your work for God by reading His word
and spending time in fellowship with Jesus, who is our Lord and Savior.
There are many directions and commandments in the bible.
You can find them as you read.
Casting down vain imaginations is vital
because our flesh is always at war with our spirits
and our allegiance to God.
Our flesh wants what it wants and our foolish mortal thoughts
like to elevate themselves above the Most High God.
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations,
and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
The realization of the thought that the night is coming
and no man can work has many meanings.
It can have worldly meanings as well as spiritual meanings.
These are just some thoughts that have crossed my mind:
The Gospel will be stifled by the world both by law and by leaders.
It already is in some countries.
In communist countries, the Gospel cannot be preached freely.
Some countries have different religions
as their leaders despise the Gospel of Christ.
It cannot be preached freely.
We have many indicators that the countries
that still allow the Gospel to be preached are clamping down.
Some consider the bible hate speech because it speaks of sin.
That was part of the reason Christ was delivered to be killed,
because they did not like what He said
and they wanted to shut Him up.
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin:
but now they have no cloke for their sin. John 15:22
The Gospel is not something humans can understand without the power and the work of the Holy Spirit.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18
The gospel is foolishness to anyone in the world,
until the Lord opens their eyes.
There is no way to know when that door will be shut.
It could mean something different for everyone.
