Henceforth there is laid up for me

I saw in the night visions, and, behold,
one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven,
and came to the Ancient of days,
and they brought him near before him.
And there was given him dominion,
and glory, and a kingdom,
that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him:
his dominion is an everlasting dominion,
which shall not pass away,
and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14
A lot of us think about The Rapture these days,
especially as we see The Day of the Lord drawing closer
I understand the scriptures to show that
The Second Coming and The Rapture are One Event,
not separated
Jesus made things very clear
so we could be prepared and know what to watch for
and to know when The End is near
The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24,
Tell us, when shall these things be?
and what shall be the sign of thy coming,
and of the end of the world? v 3b
And Jesus answered and said unto them,
Take heed that no man deceive you. v 4
For many shall come in my name, saying,
I am Christ; and shall deceive many. v 5
For nation shall rise against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom:
and there shall be famines,
and pestilences,
and earthquakes,
in divers places. v 7
Then shall they deliver you up
to be afflicted, and shall kill you:
and ye shall be hated of all nations
for my name’s sake. v 9
And many false prophets shall rise,
and shall deceive many. v 11
And this gospel of the kingdom
shall be preached in all the world
for a witness unto all nations;
and then shall the end come. v 14
Then if any man shall say unto you,
Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. v 23
For there shall arise false Christs,
and false prophets,
and shall shew great signs and wonders;
insomuch that, if it were possible,
they shall deceive the very elect. v 24
Behold, I have told you before. v 25
For as the lightning cometh out of the east,
and shineth even unto the west;
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. v 27
Immediately after the tribulation of those days
shall the sun be darkened,
and the moon shall not give her light,
and the stars shall fall from heaven,
and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: v 28
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:
and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn,
and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven
with power and great glory. v 30
Now learn a parable of the fig tree;
When his branch is yet tender,
and putteth forth leaves,
ye know that summer is nigh: v 32
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things,
know that it is near, even at the doors. v 33
But of that day and hour knoweth no man,
no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. v 36
Jesus warned us that He comes like a thief in the night:
Behold, I come as a thief.
Blessed is he that watcheth,
and keepeth his garments,
lest he walk naked,
and they see his shame. Revelation 16:15
For yourselves know perfectly
that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety;
then sudden destruction cometh upon them,
as travail upon a woman with child;
and they shall not escape.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness,
that that day should overtake you as a thief.
1 Thessalonians 2-4
When you’re reading these,
keep your eye on the trumpet:
And he shall send his angels
with a great sound of a trumpet,
and they shall gather together his elect
from the four winds,
from one end of heaven to the other. Matthew 24:31
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trump:
for the trumpet shall sound,
and the dead shall be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:52
For the Lord himself shall
descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4
Then, if we add in Revelation 11:15
And the seventh angel sounded;
and there were great voices in heaven, saying,
The kingdoms of this world are become
the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ;
and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Behold, he cometh with clouds;
and every eye shall see him,
and they also which pierced him:
and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.
Even so, Amen. Revelation 1:7
